Is my students' data safe?
Yes. Data is hosted in Canada (ca-central-1), encrypted in transit, and protected by row-level security so you only ever see your own classes. It is never used to train AI models, and you can request deletion at any time. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
How does it handle handwriting?
Photograph the page and GradeAid transcribes the handwriting into text, then shows you that transcription to confirm before anything is graded — so you can fix any misread first. Scanned PDFs and typed answers work the same way.
What grade levels and subjects does it work for?
It grades against the rubric you provide, so it adapts to elementary through university and to most written-answer subjects — short answers, essays, problem sets, lab reports, and more. You set the standard; it applies it consistently.
Is the AI's grade the final word?
No — you are. GradeAid gives you a consistent first pass with a point-by-point breakdown, and you review and adjust any score or comment. Your override always replaces the AI’s number. It is an assistant, not a replacement for your judgment.
